I’m back!
October 12, 2008
Dear blog,
I’m so sorry I’ve neglected you for so long. Life got busy, you know? So I hope you’ll forgive me and let me back into your arms. Everyone deserves a second chance, right?
As a peace offering of sorts, I come back armed with a number of goodies. May I just forewarn you though that these were not entirely created in ArtRage (AR). But, let me explain. I’ve decided to make this blog a repository of sorts for all my so-called art. That means from now on, you won’t only have to bear with my attempts at mastering ArtRage but also other softwares and crafting projects. I hope you don’t mind.
In return for your kindness and forgiveness, I promise to post something at least once a week. And to come up with (fingers crossed) increasingly better projects worthy of your pages. Deal?
Great! You’re the best bloggy. Now let’s get on with the program. Here are the goodies I promised you.
This started out as a sketch Irone did for me, replicating one of the cutesy batang Pinoy he did for school. Because the little fellow reminded me greatly of the character for the Sangkap Pinoy seal, I christened him Espee.
Here he is in his first colored glory. Pastel coloring done in AR.
Then I brought him into Photoshop and thought of giving him another set of clothes. The shirt is for younger sister whom, as you can probably surmise, is one of those enarmored with the adorable boy.
I was having too much fun and I didn’t want to start. So I started working on this just because littlest sister said something about a metal-mouth smiley on a co-passenger’s shirt. This is my not-so-cute version using Adobe Illustrator.
That was my first real attempt at vector art so I figured, why stop now? The next two images are the result of a lot of hits and misses, plus a huge grin on my face.
I created all the elements on both layouts except for the starry night and rainbow fills which were built-in options in AI. Doing these were a LOT of fun and I can’t wait to try my hand on it again.
So you see, I really hope to keep my word this time. Will try my bestest, I promise.
Until next time!
Love, me
